The Conglomerate of the Healthy Forests is a lax-quarantine enclave of wealthy, surgically regenerated matuselaides in 2087, founded by Zíides, whose business is youth-trafficking and a televised manhunt.

It offers ancient baths, quarries, an overpriced golf course and lakeside cabins in a Roman-Japanese theme-park setting among real ancient bristlecone pines (Pinus aristata) with a druidic clearing; the Refinery & Dam smokes beyond the forest. Youth is traded as a token: trafficking farms nearby, “win a Lolita” leaflets, and Villa Albalonga processing the OPER project’s goods.
When Kreider’s band skirted it seeking refuge, it was showered with leaflets (“wake up, sleep and survive”, “lose your fire”) instead of missiles, kept for the televised hunt. The Hunters clashed with the band in an open-field slaughter rated by viewer likes. The doctor Ángel García was shot dead at night, and Kreider was branded a traitor. The band escaped by air, decimated and famous.
