Talia Cristalia is a paladin princess of a noble house from some 3,400 to 4,000 years ago, condemned to go on living after losing her soul in hell.
| Type | Character |
| Title | Paladin princess; captain |
| Betrothed | Prince Debo |
| Spanish entry | Talia Cristalia |
Description
She wears armor and a sword, is blonde, with “inspired light eyes”, and in the temple, unlike the divine, “has only one pair of arms and one pair of tits”. She is seen seated on the throne; once, melancholy, watching Jupiter and at times Venus, “the star of love”, and making drawings.
History
- “Obedient to her father’s command”, she was betrothed to Prince Debo, who “came to marry a certain woman who met a bad end here”. The marriage was not consummated.
- Her aunt is Valkyria. Her single ring is a requirement of the hierogamy.
- As a captain, she was rescued by a band of companions from capture and torture.
- Her fate is a “condemnation so that she, a paladin, stays alive”. She went to hell, let her soul be taken, and so became Swedenborg. Her life “is seeping away” and she is turning into a living dead, as punishment for past deeds.
Legacy
There is “an ancient myth called the myth of Talia Cristalia” and “the book with the songs of the legend of Talia Cristalia”, found by Vitalis. Her name is also a moral term: “following the talia cristalia” means fanaticism.
Locations
She is placed at court, where she “is reserved” (hinting at an earlier intimate bond with Taylor); on top of the ziggurat during the apocalypse; and in hell. One record calls her a “character of the mountain”.
An unconfirmed correlation links her to the duality of Ishtar and Ereshkigal, mirrored in the captain and the priestess.
Conflicting accounts
- Her aunt’s house is associated with “the golden ones” or with “the green one”.
- One record has her “dead for perhaps thousands of years, or lost”; another has her present, an enemy, turning into a living dead.
- A queen of that name exists (“ah, of the mother!“): she may have reigned, or the queen may be her mother.
- She is also called “Captain Natalia Cristalia”.
Open questions
- Does “following the talia cristalia” mean devotion to her or a homonym?
- The ring’s form and whereabouts, and the book’s language and use, are unknown.
- Her captor and the motive of her torture are not recorded.
