Jock Sotot is a single entity outside the universe who “holds the key for the gods to enter” and is “the only one who handles the possibility of the foldings of times, of the portals”. Without him the ancient gods have no entrance; every time anomaly is attributed to him. No one has seen his form, scale, voice or substance.

The touch
“No one knows how Jock Sotot does it, but he manages to make some people mix their lives across times.” Whoever knows something of the future, or of a distant past outside their own existence, has been touched by him; the touched are scattered individuals, not a sect.
A graver degree is observation; a company was told, “you have already been observed directly”. Over the observed he can exercise direct dominion unless they are exiled from the world of dreams — hence the exile of Washington.
Containment
- Platforms: whoever controls most of them can “make this place the prison of that entity”. Their closing has secured “that Jockster, apparently, will not set foot in that”.
- Atlantis: the volume meant for his body should he manifest. Someone unnamed said: “if Jock concentrates I myself will lock him up”.
- The devils: they control most platforms and manipulate the world out of ambition and fear. They want to use him, yet «Hasta ellos deberían temerle» (“Even they should fear him”).
The manipulation of Antiterra, aimed at containing rather than destroying him, has Jock Sotot as its cause.
