Description
Itineraries place Genoa at the head of the route that runs through Sicily to the Holy Land. Its banking appears wherever the late crusaders appear, as far as Cyprus.
The Ribiera district is squeezed into narrow streets, damp with tributaries and rain, beside the river that the register calls the Arno, the same name as the river of Florence.
