Description
Theirs is an industrialized civilization with an ideology of “total dehumanization”. They use automatons, drones and mechanical warfare, and maintain a “Ministry of Euthanasia”. They destroyed Draga Machine, who “had feelings”. They can project agents and mercenaries into past timelines to carry out contracts. The war between Terra and Proxima Centauri is a 22nd-century conflict, the era of Thomas Cole.
Relationships
- Thomas Cole. They actively pursue him (Hombre Variable, “Variable Man”), who has technical-magical knowledge of strategic value. They use Red Merchants as intermediaries and four-armed guards as a capture force.
- Aby Warburgo. Aby declares that he visited Alpha Centauri in person: “I was in the future… in Alpha Centauri. Four light-years… it is industrialization… clearly it is total dehumanization.” This suggests earlier firsthand experience that is not otherwise documented.
Appearances
They are first revealed to the group in Uchronic Paris, in combat with Centaurian agents in the streets of Constantinople. They then pursue Thomas Cole continuously. They are referred to indirectly in connection with Draga Machine.
