Lineage
His father Azimar is recorded as a banished angel, “a very horrible angel”, and also as “a kind of demon”; Armagedón himself “doesn’t even know what his father was”. Both versions stand.
Armagedón is an angelic entity that Hell rejected and sent back to the surface.
Appearance
He is “completely sheathed in a suit” and his face has never been seen. He is 1.80 m tall, “very big”, and draws attention. Under the mask his face is “completely lacerated by some accident”, with no nose; nobody asked what happened (“better we don’t know, better you put on the mask”). He wears the mask “because his father was a kind of demon”.
Two “shining wings of light” come from his back, hidden under a violet cape; one arm can light up. He wears a magic suit and chains and carries a sword. The wings are described both as a permanent hidden feature and as something that emerges in the moment.
Deeds
- He was imprisoned and freed by one of his companions. Having bonded with the company, he declared: «Voy a luchar contra el mal y hacer la justicia» (“I will fight evil and do justice”).
- In combat he rises thirty feet into the air, heals allies and paralyzes. His protection against evil extends to others, shielding them from the terrifying gaze of creatures.
- Unarmed, he broke a cornugon’s mouth with a kick.
- He was once given up as lost in combat for some hours.
- Trying to lift the wounded Sisi, he paralyzed her, fell with her and hurt her badly.
Wife and offspring
He met his demonic wife, the demoness of the chains (“la chica de la maca”, who juggles chains), at a fork in the road on the day his aunt died. He said: “she was the only woman I knew”. The union lasted two or three hundred years (“250, you don’t know”).
His generative power works without control unless wisdom intervenes: “if you had no wisdom you got a girl pregnant, and in the pregnancy she murdered another — in a day”. He claimed “more than 1000 children”; others, multiplying days by years of the union, reached nearly a million demon children, “infernal seeds down there”. The dispute is unresolved.
His eldest son, Conjuror, traveled with him in the exchange of a book that allowed the exit from Hell. Another son was fathered on the surface with a half-orc woman, in a cavern in Bator, in the lands of Prester John.
Itinerary
From the prison he went to the steppes, “the lands of the bandits, the lands of the shields”, and then to Bator. “He never entered the temple.”
Open questions
- What lacerated his face; what prison held him, where, and why.
- The material, color and function of the magic suit.
- The title of the exchanged book and with whom the pact was made.
- Whether his chains relate to his chain-juggling wife; why he never entered the temple.
- Whether the passage about a six-month-old child that “vibrates and takes the form of whatever best helps it survive” refers to his offspring.
- Where the steppes lie relative to Bator.
