The Atlanteans are a people known only through their institutions: a king, a numbering of objects, a language and a sentence of dreamlessness. The companions of these gestas (campaign-cycles) count themselves among “the chosen of Atlantis” and call one another “Atlantean”.

Heritage

Belonging to the Atlanteans is the reason the companions hold together: “That is why we have to stay more united than ever, Atlantean.” The Atlanteans were, or are, a whole civilization with their own king, their own language and an era named after them, the Age of the Atlanteans, by which the antiquity of valuable objects is measured.

The king and the eggs

There is a king “now”; his name and lineage are unknown. He cares greatly about eggs “in general”, and “above all the last ones”, which he knows “are pristine”. His reign validates above all the recovery of eggs. The Atlanteans also keep birds, which they feed.

Numbered objects

“Everyone who has an object… from the Age of the Atlanteans… has an identification”: “a number, really”, an alphanumeric code that “points to something of yours that you carry”. It marks the bearer, not only the object.

Language and covering names

“Atlantean” is also a living language: the son of Armagedón “has the language, Atlantean”. The Green Mountain Boys carry a secret name, Borreones Atlantes, used for recognition among initiates.

The sentence of not dreaming

Two Atlanteans “had renounced the Plane of Dreams”. They were seen, expelled from that plane and sentenced: “You will never dream again.” Their names are written in a book of Pablo’s Isagógica.

Geography

The only territorial anchor is second-hand: “there was something in the story of the regulators that said the Atlanteans were there too”. Something otherwise Egyptian may also have had “some Atlantean contact… if it exists” — a statement made with that reservation.

Open questions

  • Which creature lays the pristine eggs, what makes them pristine, and whether the fed birds lay them.
  • The king’s name, how he came to the throne, and what came before him.
  • When the Age of the Atlanteans began, and whether it ended; where the number is engraved and what it points to.
  • Who judged the two renouncers, who they were, and whether the sentence was divine or magical.
  • What the “Atlantean chests” mentioned in passing are.
  • Whether the Green Mountain Boys have Atlantean blood or only the alias; whether the language is written.
