The Positive Energy Plane is the head of the planar system recorded in the Archive: the plane that nourishes consciousness and will, source of everything conscious in the universe. Whoever sets foot there wagers their spirit.

The source and its ray
The plane had “a direct intervention” in the events of Antiterra. A ray from it “took something from here, but also left something”. It is a place where people are revived — Letea is placed there — and where people are attacked: Arian was struck “on the positive plane”. At one point in the record, access to the Positive Energy Plane is gone, a closure attributed to “cosmic changes”.
The planes of the chart
The record counts seven planes: the primary material plane, the Positive, the Astral, the etheric, the Akashic, the plane of Dreams and the plane of Shadows. They are crossed by the planar-transit spell, portals and doors that stay open once opened. It is the cosmology of Uchronic Paris too.
- Astral — “connects the stars and the voids”. Light and wind; slow, singing giant beasts, apparently astral whales. The traveler leaves the body asleep, with a silver cord from the back, one per sleeper. A guardian watches the sleepers, “because if I don’t look after them they destroy them”. Time stalls there: a quick answer in the Astral happens sixty years later in the primary world. It was proposed to bring Tiamat there to defeat her. An open door to it lets in a wind felt in the mind; from certain places it cannot be contacted.
- Etheric — the immediate layer, peopled by invisible ethereal creatures that are nonetheless seen.
- Akashic — memory: consulted to see “how things really were”.
- Dreams (or “Onirios”) — mushrooms, strange animals, smells, an oneiric forest. Reached from the Island of Antigua; for some “the center of creation”. A spell there makes “a completely impossible action happen”. There was an episode with dragons there; the trail of Cakravartin leads toward it.
- Shadows — a dark, melancholy port city under an eternally sad gray sky, where an encounter with a worm awaits.
Shadows and Dreams together are the subject of an unrecorded prophecy. A gem traveling to “a place full of dragons” may lie on some plane.
Conflicting accounts
- Dreams is reached from Antigua; another account says it cannot be entered, as an entity waits there.
Open questions
- The Positive Plane’s interior is not described; what closed it, and whether it is still closed, is unknown.
- Whether a negative energy plane exists is not recorded.
- Whether Dreams, Onirios and the realm of sleep are one place is unclear.
- Who guards the cords, and what the ray took and left, are unknown.
