Christ is the power whose sacrifice marks the count of years in Antiterra: the years of that world “are those of Christ”. “Christ made a pact, marked the passage of time, the eternal community.”

Nature

Among those who serve his name it is said: «Cristo no se bajó de la cruz. Cristo murió en la cruz.» (“Christ did not come down from the cross. Christ died on the cross.“) Because he sacrificed himself, he is “the only one who can possess the stone”. If Christ changed, the count of years would change, since he is the world’s unit of time.

He “is usually near places where there are gallows and other kinds of scaffolds”.

Readings by region

  • In Florence he is invoked to heal, by imposition of faith, with the formula «Oh mujer, grande es tu fe; hágase contigo como quieras» (“O woman, great is your faith; be it done for you as you desire”); the son was healed from that hour. Whether this privilege is Florentine or general is unknown.
  • The Templars swear their swords to him: “my sword and my skills are at Christ’s disposal”.
  • In Byzantium he is named Cristo Kronamon (other scribes write Cristo Cronomante; the spelling is disputed): the chosen one who was the only way to defeat the demon. Eastern visions of Christianity hold that even a demon can be redeemed; the West does not admit this.
  • An evangelical cult professes “a far more dangerous Christ, with heads…”; the account breaks off there.

The Cronomicón

Whoever reads the Cronomicón sees Christ’s martyrdom; the book shows rather than narrates it. A certain Lázaro also names him in a speech: «cristo coronamos».
