Juego en Vala is an entity possessed by “Jackson Todd,” met in a secondary post-battle encounter at the close of the Descent.

The group fights it briefly and defeats it in under ten seconds. It leaves behind a saber with an orange stuck in it. The encounter is comic and absurd, a shift in tone from epic to surreal.

The demonic possessions in this stretch come from the Abyss and occur under the influence of Plutus.

Open questions

  • Its name suggests a connection with Ardis Vala: possibly a fragment of that corrupted crystalline plane.
  • It may represent the final corruption of hell (corrupt magic, demonic possessions). The group’s easy victory may mean either that the group is now very powerful or that the encounter is insignificant.
