Role

The Anael Lodge is the right-wing Masonry tied to the “entrepreneurial” unions. Uriel shares lodge and union with Ricardo Moretti; the two are Anael’s visible faces. Above them stands the Propaganda Due of Lucio Gelli, the Vatican gang that arranges the board of earthly power before anyone descends to the South Atlantic. The surface struggle between Vandor and the “entrepreneurs” of the Peronist right answers to Gelli’s scheme. Uriel is one of its hands at the base.

The pacifist facade

Outwardly he presents himself as a pacifist, mild and conciliatory. Beneath this he infiltrates the inner circle of those around him, listening where he is not suspected and moving from within what his preaching of peace conceals. With Moretti he becomes a target of the operation the group mounts against Anael’s apparatus: dismantling them means dismantling the printing head of the esoteric right.

Above the threshold

Uriel is not known to go down to the water or touch what waits beneath the islands. His domain is the surface: press, union, lodge. The Anael Lodge belongs to the same historical vestibule opened by Operativo Cóndor, beneath which wait the Esoteric Order of Dagon and the yellow kingdom of Carcosa. Like almost all who obey Gelli, he is wholly ignorant of what waits beneath the paper he prints.
