Lucio Gelli is the Italian Masonic grand master who heads the Propaganda Due (P2), the Vatican-linked lodge that, in the 1966 setting of the Malvinas gesta, stands above the visible lodges and decides who governs. He holds no office; he hands them out.

Description

Gelli is a blackshirt Italian with shady business, an anticommunist by trade, said to “place presidents”; he is obeyed when he speaks. The chronicle also records him as Lucio Gheri and Schelli, variants of the name of the grand master Licio Gelli.

Role

Gelli never acts in the islands. His domain is the scheme that distributes earthly power before anyone reaches the South Atlantic. The Anael Lodge, the right-wing Freemasonry of 1966 Buenos Aires, tied to the “entrepreneurial” unions and the printers’ guild, ultimately answers to the P2. Beneath Gelli maneuvers Uriel (also recorded as Urién), a union man and printer. The union struggle between Vandor and the “entrepreneurs” of the Peronist right answers to the board Gelli and the P2 arrange.

The P2 is the highest, least visible piece of the conspiracy framing the Malvinas gesta, part of the same historical layer as the Operativo Cóndor, beneath which wait the Esoteric Order of Dagon and the yellow kingdom of Carcosa. None of those who obey him knows fully what waits below.

Licio Gelli is a real historical figure, kept as he is in the archive.
