Thegan White-Mane, or Whitemane (also Tegan, Fegan), owns the Inn of the Lost in the Troll Lifts and Arena of the Ardis Vala Mega-Dungeon in Ardis Vala. He lives above the inn’s tavern and keeps deep, dark secrets.

Description
About 60, silver-haired, with a rock look of scars and tattoos. The Seekers likened him to “Mel Gibson in Braveheart”: a white mane and the bearing of a veteran warrior turned innkeeper.
The Inn of the Lost
He took over the House of Isocorax, old Archontean offices founded by Isocorax, and made it a working inn; a zone of peace he declared, behind a magically reinforced Peace Door; a refuge for “the lost,” fugitives from stronger enemies; and a trade hub selling rastite lotus powder to Lady Deino. An ancestral anti-magic shell stops all spells inside except through rings of higher purpose, so everyone within is equal.
His mostly tacit support comes from Varboka (Varumani thegn), King Weskenim (goblins of the Goblin Warrens), Lord Carcalus (the Arena) and the beastmen (through Deino), making him the dungeon’s most politically subtle figure. The inn is a probable neutral refuge for the Seekers on their return.
Open questions
- What his secrets are, including the Peace Door’s origin and his true age.
- Whether he and the inn survived the hiatus and the defeat of the Varumani, whose support the peace depended on, and whether he dealt with Pope Alejandro Sixto and the Ravenloft domain.
