The Senatus Popularis (the “House of the People”) is a political body in Uchronic Paris, created after the companions’ victory in the Funeral Games.
The Time Bandits presented themselves as the “Casa del Pueblo” (“House of the People”), against the five aristocratic Houses with their dragons. After their victory, Theodora ceded them political power. Claude pushed for a Popular Senate or Council with votes, as a democratic institutional seed before they left. It includes shared governance, popular representation and defense against external threats (Turks, or “torcos”).
The plan was to maintain it during the roughly four years of downtime in Byzantium before the jump to 1389.
