The United Platforms of the Plata Estuary is the official name, in 1838, of what another world would call the Argentine Confederation; “platform” replaces “province”.

The full name appears in official documents and speeches and is shortened in everyday speech. Its capital operates under the name Santa María de Torregrises. Colonel Carmín styles himself “governor and intercessor of the United Platforms of the Republic of the Plata”, alternating “Confederation” and “Republic” by audience; the regime never fixes the name. The Fort of the Federal Star is its southernmost military post, and the Palace of Mud an intermediate base.
