The Palace of Mud / Protection of the Plata is a military barracks and administrative base on the southern frontier of the Rosista regime. Its official name is Protección de la Plata, used in the dispatches that leave Torregrises and on the forms of the captain who administers it. The troops call it Palacio del Lodo (“Palace of Mud”), and that is the name that survives among those who passed through.

Description
- It is a palace made of damp earth, midway between the capital and the end of the world, where the regime sends those it has but does not know where to put.
- It is an administrative node between the Fort of the Federal Star, the southernmost and truly forgotten post, and the capital. The men of the south report their news here. The captain receives it, filters it and decides how much goes higher.
- The barracks is reputed to house the worst element available, which in the regime’s vocabulary means both the dangerous and the expendable.
