Description
A rank-and-file member of the batrachian brotherhood beneath the islands, Mordecai wears a kilt and a red thong and fights with a hammer, while a squad companion covers him with a shotgun. He bears a swastika tattoo that marks him as a neo-Nazi.
Capture and confession
The group brought to the descent by the Operativo Cóndor ambushed and captured him in the brotherhood’s dungeon, the same cell where the Order held Grandmother Echegoyen hostage and from which the Hybrid Son also emerges. Mordecai confessed that he had been hired by a right-wing lodge of Buenos Aires, named as “Desarrollo de BA”, which used the brotherhood as its armed branch. The commission was twofold: drive the Echegoyen family away from the lighthouse, and kidnap Grandmother Echegoyen to extract a ransom from the family.
He still invoked Dagon and the Hydra as his “fathers” and his “orders”, the batrachian powers the brotherhood worships under the name of Cthulhu: “Dagón es mi padre y la Hidra mi madre; yo no hago más que lo que el fondo me manda” (“Dagon is my father and the Hydra my mother; I only do what the deep commands me”). His confession revealed the conspiracy as human and political as well as batrachian.
