Lazar is the last Serbian prince or king, a national martyr who died at the Battle of Kosovo on 28 June 1389 defending Serbia against the Ottomans; in Uchronic Paris his death is the anchor point of a cursed date.

History

His death created a cultural “curse” on Saint Vitus’s day that lasted centuries, exploited in the uchrony by the Black Hand for the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand at Sarajevo 1914, on the same date. His death is the anchor point the companions travelled to alter to break the cycle. Gavrilo Princip was captured, possessed or fused by one of the companions. The curses of Lazar and of Saint Vitus are distinct phenomena that overlap on that date.

Description

He is depicted as an icon: gold halo, jeweled crown, forked gray beard, raising the cross of his martyrdom and holding the scroll of his cause.
