Description
He is Russian, not French, a classic libertarian and man of the program. In the future, at least on Terra, he will write Modern Science and Anarchism, the work the archive cites.
The maillotin mace
Hidden in his sack he carries a great mace of the maillotins, the armed people of the Paris revolt (late February/March 1382, with unrest into 1383) against the taxes Charles VI wanted to impose. The rioters armed themselves with lead mallets from the royal arsenal, hence their name.
Ally of the Regulators
In 1889–1890, after defeating Scya in Gallia Narbonensis, the Regulators crossed Carcassonne, reached San Sebastián and advanced toward Paris, seeking libertarian allies against Lord Gaul’s Viceroyalty and its Baatezu legion. Kropotkin appeared: “One of the greatest libertarians is not French but Russian: Kropotkin.” Alongside him stood brave Frenchmen asking what use a monument to liberty won from the French monarchy a hundred years before was, if they were subjects of the English crown. In Antiterra in 1890, France is a British viceroyalty; the libertarians dream of bringing in the parallel Free France of Terra.
Political commissar
When the Regulators restored the City of Doors — the planar foundation left incomplete after the Fabuloso’s wish at the Eiffel Tournament — Kropotkin served there as political commissar.
