Inevitables are non-living lawful beings of Antiterra that enforce cosmic law by carrying out preassigned missions, stored and reassigned in the Inevitable Source.

- Killed, they return to the Source.
- Bodies may be cybernetic or machine-like, or humanoid with mechanical parts, like Draga Machine.
- Missions are unalterable; deviation is a cosmic transgression. Marshall Inevitable, of higher rank, reabsorbs deviant ones.
- Prussian or German Inevitables appear allied to the Austro-German empires.
History
On the train to Belgrade, a German agent offered Time Bandits a magical contract to destroy Apis or capture Draga. Draga, sent to kill Apis, had fallen in love with Aleksandar and abandoned her mission; Apis’s death fulfilled it, and she was summoned for reabsorption. Marshall appeared at a dimensional gate; Swan failed to save her, as Inevitables cannot be raised by ordinary means, and vanished into the portal with her.
