Hassan-i Sabbah / the Old Men of the Mountain are the historical Assassins as they appear in Uchronic Paris, an organization that uses assassination as a political tool.

In 1055

  • The Prophet of the Desert accuses the group of belonging to this cycle: “son asesinos del Sultán, ciclos del patoforme” (“they are assassins of the Sultan, cycles of the patoforme”).
  • In a communion with Tetraxis and Chronomon, the group asks whether the Old Men of the Mountain are active “in this time” (1055). The answer is “Yes, they exist and function.”
  • Claude (Popović) carries the experience of the assassination at Sarajevo; the parallel with the historical Assassins is intentional.
  • Whether they are responsible for the attempt (on the male concubine, el concubino) is only partially answered.

Connections

Medieval Assassins and the temporal conspiracy of The Serpent are linked by a recurring theme: organizations that use assassination as a political tool across many eras. See also the Circle of the Serpent.
