The Tooth Fairy is a repulsive vampire of Buenas Sangres living in the sewers near the Teatro Colón, so called because when he questions someone he pulls their fangs.
| Type | Character (vampire) |
| Chronicle | Buenas Sangres |
| Lair | Sewers near the Teatro Colón |
| Spanish entry | El Hada de los Dientes — el que pregunta arrancando colmillos |
Description
Huge and hunched, noseless, wide-mouthed and scarred, bald except for a loose tuft; worn tramp’s clothes and a smell of damp. He lives beside the coterie’s refuge. He never showed a human past — he may never have had one — yet he is shrewd and even eloquent. The court considers him a promising young one.
Role
His specialty is getting in where he is not expected and extracting what the other knows. Interrogating Acraso beneath the Colón, he wired the prisoner to a knife-throwing wheel left over from some variety show and drew out the stake little by little, limbs pinned, and pulled two of his fangs. Acraso talked: he answers not to the prince but to the sheriff (Lavín) — the fact that changed the whole chronicle.
When the court judge was found drained and Felipe was accused, the Tooth Fairy found the body and dragged it to his lair to prevent final death, unasked and unthanked.
Appearances
- The night that went unrecorded — the judge’s body dragged to the lair.
- Santa Felicitas — the interrogation of Acraso.
- The concert — the defense of the occupied church.
