The Library of Alexandria is the major institution of Alexandria, repository of the knowledge of the ancient world. In the cycle of the Mega Gesta it is an active setting: the Serapeum, a temple-library dedicated to Serapis, served as its parallel seat in the 3rd century A.D.A., and was the scene of a key combat.
It is tied to Paulus the Chronomancer, whose native city makes Alexandria a recurring axis of the Archive. The Lighthouse and the Library are the city’s two symbolic monuments as a pole of trans-temporal knowledge.
