Aurora Polaris is an enchanted elven kingdom at the center of the forest in the land of hielo ardiente (“burning ice”), one of the two enchanted kingdoms of the region; the other is that of Queen Calíope.

Description
Caloria distrusts it because it is said to have once given alliance to the enemy, Bythamar Betheril. In the Halls it is spoken of as a separate power, neither wholly of fire nor of ice. It is old and enchanted, and its position in the war is unresolved. Until the count of the Halls, the Sogol company had neither entered it nor seen its elves; it was named by mushers around the convoy fire and by a giant who counts stones.
History
Burkestein’s report in Karlstorf placed Calíope’s palace in Aurora Polaris, although earlier accounts spoke of two separate kingdoms. The companions went to the forest and chose the path of Aries among twelve entrances, where they fought seven star guardians. This confirms a defended access beneath the icy spires, not the political map or the identity of the sovereign.
Open questions
- Whether the change in description reflects a shared domain, a new alliance or a confusion of names.
- Whether General Ajani holds authority over the territory.
