Vecna is the god of secrets and hidden knowledge, imprisoned in Tovag Baragu, who “always wanted to break the mold of the place where he was imprisoned”. His declared goal is Sigil.

Emblem and worship

No bodily form is recorded. His emblem is “an eye pierced by a sword and a hand and a dripping of blood”; the sword is that of Kas. The prayer formula is “Buscamos conocimiento. Encontramos secretos.” (“We seek knowledge. We find secrets.”), spoken “in the name of the hand and the eye”; it also invokes the powers of Terra and Antiterra, for unexplained reasons. The faithful pray for his hidden true name (“Whisper us your name”); his enemies must usurp it to defeat him.

The Sword of Kas

The Sword of Kas is the only thing that can destroy him. When the Vecnans obtain it they perform “a terrible ritual” that empowers him with it, leaving enemies unable to attack, “flickering”.

Phylactery and artifacts

His power and immortality reside in his phylactery (“la espilacteria de Becna”). His artifacts are scattered and sought: “Tell us where the fuck Vecna’s artifacts are.”

Porters, guardians, prisoners

  • The porter of Vecna, “the one in the green robe”; at least one is “very important”.
  • The guardians of Vecna outlast what they guard: “In the last stage there is nothing left, but there may be guardians of Vecna.”
  • The temple of Vecna at the end of the world holds prisoners, who made use of an old man, Oius, “the old one and the bad one”, for unrecorded reasons.

Designs on Sigil

He once tried to take Sigil from the forge. His “new plan” relies on alliances with those who “were once the owners of a million souls” and directly with the Oina Daemon. A member of the company named him, with Graff, among those he wanted to kill.

Conflicting accounts

  • Two versions differ on whether the forge is his prison of Tovag Baragu or another place.

Open questions

  • His appearance and manifestations.
  • Where the end-of-the-world temple and the phylactery are, who the prisoners are, and what would break the phylactery.
  • How many artifacts exist; how the true name is usurped; how long the flickering lasts.
  • Whether porters and guardians are one body or two (the green robe is recorded only for the porter); who Oius is.
