The Golden Tower is the seat of government of Zaira, the second city, ruled from this single point: “the golden tower in Golden Tower”. In Antiterra government, worship, prison, lighthouse, communication and magic all live in towers.

| Spanish entry | Torre Dorada |
Description
One reaches it entering Zaira “directly without stops”, the tower “still shaken by the last tremors of the city of Dorotea”. Its entrance hall holds furniture spread with papers, a floor lamp topped with a crystalline gem, rugs, armchairs, settees and a low coffee table. Its servants are “black slaves”, whom the new rulers may “decide to free or not”.
It “has not been used for a long time”. Inside lives a Persian priest in “armor of shining sun”, guardian or officiant.
Other towers
- Tower of Dís / Iron Tower: 999 miles high, in the fortress of Dís.
- Tower of Tovag Baragu: “a stone bunker” of 15 meters with battlements, a straw or palm roof against the sun, ballistas on top and one huge iron-riveted oak door.
- Tower of tranquility: a room in the castle of Imola for “creations”.
- Jungle watchtower: maximum-security prison holding Luca, reached by interplanar portals, “not all” of which “lead to good places”.
- White Tower: gems disappear from it.
- Gorge keep: “not too big”, of local basalt, with a door.
- Island lighthouse: 700 feet.
- Northwest tower of the ruin: hidden floor trapdoor.
- Tower of the evaluations: it “is and is not here”; magical wards bar entry until conditions are met.
- Nameless tower: 10 meters high, 6 wide.
- Tower seen from the house: “the tower can be seen from here”.
One solid stone tower has doors “of the very same stone as the whole tower”, which can seal shut, floors where “screams are heard on the other floors”, a vestibule where one is left “as if hanging”, large empty rooms with three exits, and vines inside, one “like a gallows”. It or another houses telephone and telegraph exchanges.
The Prism Tower
Seen from 4 kilometers, floating with no mountains below, swaying in the wind, many-colored and “sounding”: six towers of a thousand meters, one per prismatic color, around a huge empty courtyard, “as if the central tower were missing”. It must be elven craft of the highest order, by “a super archmage”, sized “as for a dragon”.
Open questions
- Height, material, and whether “golden” is color, cladding or rank, are unknown.
- That the priest’s tower, the unused tower and the Golden Tower are one building is suggested, not established.
- How many listed towers are distinct, and where the exchanges connect, is unknown.
- The jungle prison’s plane is unknown; so is whether the White Tower is the Golden Tower in another state, and where its gems go.
- What the “evaluations” are is not recorded; nor whether a seventh Prism tower ever stood.
