Zaa’s Leap of Faith occurs at the climax of the last day. In it, Zaa, the fixer who had survived disfigurement, trauma and “kill” mode, made her last fix: she threw herself into the void and projected her consciousness, together with that of her African ancestors, toward an out-of-phase world, the world of the panthers. It was a leap of faith, not a fall.
