Dráctar is a vampire warlord of the “veins of the Earth”, a single individual rather than a lineage, destroyed in his coffin and beheaded. The sealed Dráctar Way beneath the Caldero bears his name, and goblins invoke him in blood rites.

Spanish entryDráctar

Description

His head was kept apart as trophy and proof (“at last they got me the head”). He wanted “to get out of the depths”, “an access up above”. He eats arms, sucks blood and leaves a “kiss” on the victim. If he is the figure at the altar (unresolved), he has “a red thing in the chest” that pulses, most of all after sucking blood.

Dráctar Way

The sealed way beneath the Caldero gave access to kidnapped children, and Dráctar “had a role” as facilitator. Whether he opened it, lived in it or was taken out through it is unsettled.

Cult

Goblin rite: chanting, the name shouted (“Dráctar, Dráctar”, “For Dráctar”), a victim’s severed arms raised, cups filled with that victim’s blood, incense. On the surface, corrupt nobles claim not to know him and lie; at least one was recorded in that lie.

Conflicting accounts

  • Some accounts make him an intelligent creature, an agent with “a role”; others treat Drakthar as a place name only.
  • Recorded spellings: Drakthar, Drakthar Way, Dráctar, once Bracta.

Open questions

  • Whether the figure with the pulsing red object is him.
  • What the goblins gain by invoking him.
  • Who sealed the way, when, and whether before or after his destruction.
  • Where the head is now.
  • What the “veins of the Earth” are, and why he wanted the surface and the children.
