Taimo is an apprentice of Delgrante who clung to the Artifact after the catastrophe of Palia and refused to let go despite his companions’ pleas.
His obsession consumed him: he shut himself in with the object and eyed everyone with distrust. He survived the attack on Morvandor; Adimanto cut him down from the gallows amid the flames. He kept riding in terror, unable to part from the power that was killing him.
He fled with the Artifact to Mount Quilán, where his friend the hunter Fristan hid him. There Starco caught up with him and cut his throat. His blood was the first thing the Artifact drank, on a stormy night.
Ariadna cites Taimo as the exemplary case of demon-possessed objects that drive their owners mad. His necklace of golden pearls, a lesser twin of the Artifact and equally immune to fire, passes to Adimanto.
