History

The house’s origin is military: the condottiero Francesco Sforza married Bianca, illegitimate daughter of the Visconti, and the city changed its surname.

Now Ludovico Sforza, the Moor (Ludovico il Moro), rules as regent because his nephew is very young, busy with final maneuvers to consolidate. When the offer is made to sign on as his condottiero, with the usual promise (not to harm him, not to attack his property, to fight his enemies), he presents his other face: “also known to you as Graz”. The regent of Milan and Graz’zt are the same. The contract is signed in the Invisible Cities chronicle. Leonardo da Vinci is the artificer working for this court.

Those who were to govern, the true Sforza heir and his Aragonese wife, died “strangely”, embraced. The chronicle calls them Romeo and Juliet.
