Quasi (also “Netro Quasi”) is a minor demon active in Helix and its district who trades favors for pacts, raising his offers until his target gives in. He corrupted the warlock Silas and two of the Abbot’s guards, and remains at large.

| Spanish entry | Quasi — el chiquito de los pactos |
Description
Quasi is not a duke of the abyss or an infernal prince but a peddler who bargains like a rural merchant. He manifests as a figure the size of a small cat or a homunculus, invisible to the unwarned eye; his victim feels him as a weight on the shoulder, “as if a cat had climbed onto you”. He speaks by inner suggestion, not by an audible voice.
The escalating offers
To one of the twin guards he offered, in order:
- immediate power;
- armor;
- an axe that cuts off heads automatically;
- riders (Barbulis);
- a castle;
- ten thousand gold coins hidden near the barro (the barrows);
- knowledge of the Tablet of Chaos.
The catalog mixes working goods, inert wealth and esoteric knowledge, leaving the victim unsure which offer is worth most.
History
- Earlier: he had tempted Dimitri, a companion of Los Condenados (“the Condemned”), without closing a pact.
- The night of the pact: with the group imprisoned in the monastery of Helix, Quasi entered the cell of the warlock Silas. Silas fell into the pact through inability to resist rather than will to yield. Quasi then turned to one of the twin guards sent as inquisitors by the Abbot; the first resisted, then gave in when promised a way to ten thousand coins hidden in the Barrowmaze. The second twin followed.
- The escape: Quasi led the night flight into the forest, riding the shoulders of the corrupted, helped by a tragoide (a subordinate homunculus) who brought the horses.
- The altar: back in Helix, the group entered the consecrated church. Quasi could not cross the threshold; his pact-bound could, being corrupted humans rather than undead. Silas was executed on the altar by the liturgical synchrony of Vicar Otar and the cleric Mortan; the twins were paralyzed, spared and jailed.
Status
At the close of the present cycle Quasi remains free outside the consecrated precinct, his pact-bound dead or imprisoned. He has no fixed residence and appears where there is a vulnerable soul and an unreachable object.
