The Quill of Thoth (Pen of Thoth) is a sacred artifact of the cult of Thoth in Ardis Vala that engraves knowledge in whoever wields it.
| Spanish entry | Pluma de Thoth |
History
At the death of Numa Pompidio, first druid of the Seekers (recalled after the return from the Hiatus), a ritual of Thoth was held, attended by Caladan. Bayrum, scrivener and priest of Thoth, began a ritual album and wrote in it with the quill. He thereby gained latent cryptic knowledge: Mithric words, Sortian spells, some cosmological truth.
Properties
It probably joins the symbol of the ibis-headed Thoth, a link to Mithric (the sacred Archontian script) and the power to engrave knowledge in the writing hand, not only the page.
Open questions
- Whether it pre-existed or was born in the ritual; it may come from the Library of Thoth in the Howling Caves, the Halls of Thoth (where Numa was immolated), or a gift of Thoth to a priest.
