Ouranópolis (“the universe city”) is the doctrinal city of the Astra y Monstra framework: the city whose plan coincides with the complete order of the heavens.
| Type | Place (city) |
| Framework | Astra y Monstra |
| Spanish entry | Ouranópolis |
Description
Its streets are trajectories: whoever walks them performs, unknowingly, the movements of the stars. The doctrine of the monomoirai (the three hundred and sixty) suggests that the city has one district per degree of the zodiac.
Origin of the doctrine
The city is recorded alongside the revelation of Nechepso that organizes the astrological side of the archive. The pharaoh, praying all night under the open sky, was wrapped in a sky-blue tunic that showed the night sky, and so could “experience the complete order of the movements of the universe”.
In the Game of Shadows
In the gesta (campaign-cycle) of Les Libertateurs, the sage of Montbron calls Ouranópolis “the city of cities, the ultimate end of the game”. The city would thus be the final goal of the Game of Shadows.
