Hans is the thug of Morand who appears in the stinger of the First Chronicle, months after the desert, at the solitary apartment of Teddy Bennet in the gray winter of the United States.
Appearance
A large figure stands behind the frosted glass of the door. On the glass is a deep red lipstick mark, the shade of Camille, as if he had pressed his mouth against the pane. He says: “Señor Bennet. Mi nombre es Hans. Tengo preguntas sobre una mujer que usted conoce.” (“Mr. Bennet. My name is Hans. I have questions about a woman you know.“)
The story is not over: someone is still looking for the queen of war, beginning with her chronicler.
Open questions
- Did Camille leave the mark? Does Hans carry it as a trophy or a lure? Is he holding her captive? The chronicle does not say.
