Gloveich is a Unitarian (unitario), the name that the federalism of Torregrises pronounces through clenched teeth. He shot Eldorio without trial and so lit the fuse that would bring Colonel Carmín to power.

Role
Gloveich does not appear in the streets of the city in 1838. He is present as an invoked ghost, the grievance the regime needs to remember in order to justify itself.
In federal memory he is the archetype of the ruthless Unitarian, who put political conviction before the adversary’s honor and crossed the line between military defeat and extrajudicial execution. His founding act gave Carmín, the Restaurador, the martyrology he needed, and the federal people the hatred that binds them.
