Ghazan is the great Mongol lord, the Ilkhan, of the Florenzen chronicle, set in Persia in 1300. He is the son of Arghun and a direct descendant of Genghis Khan, and he wanted to coordinate with the Muslims.
Role
With his support and that of the former king of Jerusalem, a business can be set up to receive merchandise and also open a pilgrimage route, to everyone’s benefit. He does not appear in the chronicle himself; his ambassador, Isol, appears, who is also godfather of one of his sons.
His coordination with the Muslims, an alliance he never finished closing, drives the diplomacy of this part of the chronicle. His attack is expected at Famagusta, and the bastion of Cyprus depends on him.
