The Lighthouse-Monolith is a windowless green-blue stone tower, 30–40 m tall, at the center of Serpent Island in Uchronic Paris. It signals light to sky and water and acts as a temporal projection mechanism that compels its occupants into the role of Uchronic Guards, bound to carry out historical assassinations.

Its single entrance is a pivoting stone door opened by two skulls. The Vienna Secession interior (goddess Hygieia with serpent) has four floors:

  1. Combat chambers and an illusory wall.
  2. A library of about 1,000 volumes on magic, philosophy and physics.
  3. A workshop with an eight-pointed star and prophetic murals by Gustavo, the mad artist, who offers choices between violence and peace and knows of the Black Hand.
  4. The Simultaneous Circle (10–15 m, four quadrants), where Serbian revolutionaries of the Circle of the Serpent performed the ritual that projected the group to Sarajevo, 28 June 1914.

A deep naga guards it. Its design follows Olbrich’s Secession Building (1897) and Klimt’s murals; Gustavo is Gustav Mahler recast.
