The Emissary of the Game is a neutral being in Antiterra (1888) who comes to repair the ruined temple of Aries and brings the Deep Ones into the Game of Shadows.

Description

At dusk he arrives in Sonora on a donkey, in black burlap; the seemingly fat figure is thin and tall. He is an emissary of someone he cannot name (“but you can think it”; “of the ipse”, “of the one and almighty”). The Cakravartin calls him an agent who repairs the system. As a mason, he repairs the structure of the temple Gabriel failed to defend, not the mirror.

The offer

Through the eagle and the serpent (the two forms dragons combine), he proposes the encounter with one’s own shadow, an exact likeness of oneself. Most are devoured by eagle or serpent, or dissolved; fully reaching it, rarely, would be true union.

The band did not “pass” the first platform but stands on it and disturbed it; beating its guardian is not dealing with the wrath it embodies; every platform has two guardians, in Aries Gabriel and the blue dragon Oximec, who coexist. Sponsored by Atlantis, the Deep Ones enter the game.

His symbol of persuasion calms everyone, Gabriel and his efreet included, and bars the guardian from attacking those already in the game, but says nothing of the efreet; the fight breaks out anyway.
