The Black Prophet is a tall, burly Black man in a horned helmet who proclaims himself “The Chosen One.” He holds the Dragon Staff.
He preaches to slaves gathered clandestinely in New Amsterdam: “The time is near… God tells us to fight the enemy with its own weapons”. Vermir sees him in a remote vision, under a red sun that “clama por el baño de sangre” (“cries out for the bloodbath”).
Appearances and connections
- The remote vision; Farruco’s fall into the well (an image transmitted to the dragon).
- Connections: the Dragon Staff, a golden construct (“liberator of Blacks”), the Green Dragon, New Amsterdam. The construct also proclaims itself a liberator of Blacks.
Open questions
- Whether he is an agent of Salem.
- Whether he received the Dragon Staff by way of the witches of the Dutchman.
