The Corrupt Scribe is a city-bred half-orc, bald and bespectacled, prematurely aged by his orc blood, and an agent of the Aleph, the society of the scorpion sign that exploits the mine of Mount Nevermind. He is half brother and enemy of Juan Sears and son of Mamica Cárcel.

Abilities
- Raised for twenty years by the society, he is a teleporter (“magic like that of the apostle Philip”).
- He is a blood tracker: he reads the biography of blood left behind, which is how he follows the trail Oratiol leaves on a bridge.
- He anchors his illusions with iron tacks.
- He commands a hydraulic torrent with which he floods corridors to cover his movements.
History
When his mother is taken prisoner by the Libertateurs, “the prodigal son returns to look for his mother”: he rescues her with his torrent, and both barricade themselves behind a heavy door of the complex. The reunion does not save them. The society’s twelve dwarfs, Lenin and Trotsky, slit his throat, as they did his mother’s, finishing off the whole family of the mining wasteland.
