The Duke of the Wind was lord of the lakes of Isidora, one of the dukes “of the seven parts of the oceans”, whose tomb proved empty: in place of his body lay what seems a lich’s phylactery — he “has ascended”.

History
A pyrrhic victor against the shadow, with a murky past. Lover of the azata Starfata Morgana, he was taken to the grave by “the third woman”, Marta of the chains. He was buried with seven lamps in a mound in the area of the Eye of Bethlehem, halfway between Diomirra and Isidora. He has three names; the third must not be said three times without taking a breath.
When his Persian sarcophagus was forced, its excessive trap disintegrated Starfata, reducing her to a skull. The interior was empty, holding what appears to be a lich’s phylactery.
Relationships
- The source intertwines him with Kirios, “the lord of the place”, founder of the lake cities.
- His three-named sarcophagus and empty tomb echo the motif of the three-named father found in other cycles.
