Description
The Icarus Agency is a special-operations foundation named after Daedalus and Icarus. As its military arm, Jackson recruits and deploys the squad of defenders for missions the League will not sign openly. He stands in an ambiguous zone, neither clearly ally nor enemy. “I don’t ask what world the meteorite fell from. I ask who reaches the capsule first.”
The Alaska assault
At the Alaska missile silo, Mars Inc. kept a meteorite of ambrosia — divine matter fallen from remote worlds — and four capsules from which emerged the beings the corporation later called its “four reasons”. Jackson led the heroes into the ice. The four capsules ended up open and in Mars’s hands, and a compromising photograph survived the raid: a ring of Mars beside Doc Monroe (the president) and the defense minister, revealing how high the complicity between the corporation and power reaches.
The gray agents
He is one of the co-financiers of the gray agents, flagless operatives who move between the League, the Agency and corporate money.
