Abraxas is a Gnostic entity of the tradition of late Gnosticism (especially Basilides, 2nd century A.D.), associated with time, cycles and supreme power. In the shared cosmos it is integrated as a cosmological reference of weight.

The numerical value of the word “Abraxas” in Greek isopsephy totals 365, the days of the solar year, which is the basis of its connection with time and cycles. Lovecraft uses it as a reference in the Cthulhu Mythos.
