Description

In human form he was “an Indian with long hair”, with skin “the color of honey and caramel”. He wore a hide headband and cowhide trousers “Indian-style”, from “a hide from distant lands left almost in the past”, marking him as a stranger. He carried a staff called the canaíra, a pouch of stones and an object called “the estafete”. His gear was all hide, wood and stone, with no metal.

Powers and abilities

Transformed, he was a large, corporeal black jaguar. Onlookers saw “a black monster” devouring someone, then cried “It’s a man who transformed!“. He fought with teeth and claws. At wooden walls, such as a stockade, he was the company’s only way over, climbing in beast form. Witnesses called it witchcraft; in his world it was not common. He was the group’s only source of supernatural dread.

He withdrew to the woods “to do his rites”, among them “a dance of the good, full moon”, seeking inspiration. He is also credited with a panther form and a form named Wraith, the latter from an unidentified source.

Departure

“The jaguar says to them, Farewell, my friends. And he leaves.” His motives are unclear. With him the company lost all shapeshifting capacity.
