Diomirra is the ancient name of the city now really called Jóuterien, the first of the twenty-five hidden cities of the Great Khan and the first freed from the shadows. It is also the birthplace of those who came to free it.

Name
«Mientras produzca mirra, la ciudad se llama Diomirra» (“while it produces myrrh, the city is called Diomirra”); the word is said to come from its having given myrrh twice. The task is to restore the name and return the city “to its original splendor”. A region of Diomirra, containing several cities, also exists; war was fought there.
Description
Classical texts give sixty silver domes, bronze statues of all the gods, tin-paved streets, a crystal theater and a golden rooster crowing atop a tower. In the city actually entered, the rooster “was lead”: the metals show the city’s state, gold turning to lead while the shadows rule. After the redemption it shows bronze domes, tin streets and the golden rooster, visible energetically.
History
Its liberation sets the procedure for the other twenty-four. The city now looks “decent”: a new myrrh tree grows there, people walk the streets, and there is a festival. In the dark, “the voices of the good people of Diomirra who need help” are still heard.
It pays tribute in kind: 4 tons of wheat, 12 bins of flour, about 500 hens and 400 kilos of iron.
Conflicting accounts
- The texts give silver domes; the redeemed city has bronze ones, the metal the texts assign to the statues.
Open questions
- How it became Jóuterien; what the voices in the dark are.
- To whom tribute is paid; which the other cities are; what its invisibility is.
- Size, population, walls and approaches are not recorded.
