Forest is a place name that recurs across the archive’s days, as if every company entered the same one.

Description
- Around Fort Henry it is dense (“hard forest”). At night it can be crossed only by those who know the paths, or they get lost among the crags.
- It is intricate: trails change route between visits, and travelers call it heavy and difficult.
- Clearings border dense thicket; its color is dark, almost black.
- Itineraries place it south of certain camp hills, connecting directly with the crags. At least one combat took place entirely within it.
- One note compares it to the forests of Pinamar.
Conflicting accounts
- In giant territory the canopy closes into a vegetal cage.
- Elsewhere it is jungle with open spaces between large trees, not low thicket. These may be two forests, or two moods of one.
- A low-confidence note says the present forest has intelligence and senses: eyes, ears, whispers in the dark, hostility to intruders. A more sober record says only that it is changing, subtly and slightly.
