The Future is an androgynous figure who rules the gypsy caravans stationed in front of the Bastille in Paris, presenting as queen of the gypsies (Philipper) and as the top-hatted chief of the wagon (Future).

Fortune-tellers, lottery bought in advance, hosts (hostias) in exchange for souls, messenger service with the Bastille, and a professional “neutrality” sold to the highest bidder. Among Los Crapuls it appears as Future the seer: a circus girl who “knows things about the future” and announced the bout of Host Poker.
Parentage
Future is the twin sister of Krisina, “dressed as a man, with a top hat”. Both are daughters of Jock Sotot, spawn able to pass as members of the human race. The queens’ musketeers are also suspected to depend on this parentage.
