Prefects of Time / Subprefecture of Time is an organization of chronal authorities in Uchronic Paris. It regulates time travel, investigates crimes tied to timelines and issues contracts to undercover agents.

- Structure: a magical bureaucracy with the power of “protection” against civil authorities (police, army). It insists on “papers”, meaning formal contracts.

- Interests: the conspiracy of “the Serpent”, manipulation of inheritances, illegal time travel, and crimes tied to access to ancestral bloodlines.
Iriarte intervenes and offers a contract. The Prefecture is neutral but loyal to ancestral, aristocratic power; blood matters. Claude distrusts it; Philippe cooperates, pragmatically.
