Nimrolath is a land of dark forests in the south, homeland of Veloria, the obsidian-skinned elf. The candidate the sun-king did not dare accept came from there, and the elves of the Black Poplars who answered her call to war are her people.
It is the geographic cradle of the shadow: the dark south, set against the dawn north of Adara. It is mentioned at the origin of the chronicle (chapter I). Its opposite is the kingdom of light of the Liosalfar and, later, Torreluces.
