Appearance at the Forum
She arrives on a cloud. When someone in the Forum invoked protection, “¿acaso no nos ampara la inmunidad? ¿Pueden nuestros acreedores quitarnos todo?” (“does immunity not protect us? Can our creditors take everything?”), the room was a breath from knives. She spoke briefly: “Ellos tienen la gracia de una semana. Si no pagan, quedarán fuera del contrato.” (“They have a week’s grace. If they do not pay, they will be outside the contract.“)
The Seekers had already entered grace by reaffirming that they would pay the auction debt. The assault had occurred outside the Forum precinct, in what was once the temple of Thoth, so either the letter had a gap or the protection covered them anyway. They left alive by a clause.

- Lady Deino, the Witch of the Halls and lady of the beast-men, deals with elemental beings, in particular genies.
Open questions
- A thread between Lady Deino and the Forum’s administrator is laid but not followed.
